ABOUT

Miranda Swick is a creative entrepreneur based in Los Angeles with a background in business development, talent management & creative media. Storytelling & the power of conveying ideas through artistic mediums have been a guiding passion since childhood. Viewing life as a narrative, she often reflected on whether we shaped a story or if a story shaped us. This curiosity has driven her to unravel her identity time & time again to better understand reason. Her innovative thinking & versatility are qualities that continue to guide her into adulthood.

Two weeks after earning her Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Photography in 2016, Miranda packed her car & drove to the West Coast ready to embrace an uncertain but compelling destiny. Starting in the Bay Area, she immersed herself in the San Francisco music scene, blending her love of music with photography & video production. Her work garnered recognition from artists such as Ashe & Quinn XCII. In 2017, she began a five-year tenure with the Coachella Valley Music Festival, refining her skills in large-scale event production. Eventually making her way to Los Angeles, she pursued roles like Lead Casting Coordinator for a Russo Brothers film  as well as management positions for talent & notable powerhouses in Hollywood. Working with mentors such as Junie Lowry-Johnson deepened her understanding of the entertainment industry. Clients recognizing the value of her contributions as a Day-To-Day Manager, she was presented with opportunities to join a client company directly.

Pivoting into business development within the architecture & high-design market, she signed on with ATRA. Working her way up to Sales Director, Miranda has influenced the brand’s development by spearheading campaigns, solidifying efficient workflows, training associates & managing high-profile projects. She generates an average of $1.5 million in personal sales annually. Through networking, she began representing other brands like AA Associates & Morphus. These opportunities have helped hone her expertise in local outreach & brand building.

In 2025, Miranda aims to apply her skillset with brands who's artistic endeavors align with her values & creative style.

"There is an amphetamine-like charge to hiring The correct person. In casting, this person will often demonstrate a wildly superior comprehension of text. In hiring for casting, this person will often demonstrate a wildly superior comprehension of people.

Miranda Swick was this person. The memory is vivid. In the middle of Covid swap of digital introductions, Miranda first appeared to me on a zoom call. I was flashed the fetching qualities by which prospective actors would soon be greeted: Photogenic face, integrating voice, and intelligence that beams.

Above all, I remember the comprehension. For a project who is delirious and passionately largely in the extraordinary size and variety of its cast, this comprehension was an unimaginably precious currency. As the overwhelming needs of the cast were declineated, Miranda communicated a keen and nuanced understanding of our intentions.

When production commenced, my attention turned more and more to the sets immediate needs, Miranda‘s hand and casting grew increasingly vital and autonomous. She led a vast effort of locating and securing a wide range of individuals. Her ability to adapt to the vicissitudes of the production was extraordinary. Her communication throughout each phase of this process remained both thorough and considerately paced.

Miranda‘s rapport with actors was frequently miraculous. Many times throughout production, the films cast, both perspective and secured, would be required to adjust to revised timelines, and impromptu locations, radical shifts an appearance-and with each new demand, I was amazed at the inherent skill with which Miranda maintained the cast’s unwavering trust.

This trust was all the more paramount due to the film being shot at the height of Covid, at a time that preceded access to vaccinations. As a result, miranda took on the additional responsibility of educating actors on the nebulous and rapidly changing requirements the pandemic demand in, simultaneously maintaining the enthusiasm for a process frequently marred by endless medical precautions.

I enjoyed with miranda the thrill of comfort and collaboration. I trusted her with the most vulnerable needs of the productions casting requirements, and was consistently rewarded with her tireless and inspired work. It’s because of this that I recommend Miranda without hesitation for any of the many casting departments in film production that demand her particular form of intelligence and magnetism: an exceptional force which brings to life-thorough scouting or screening or organizing or managing-the abstract and magical presence of characters who shape our love for the medium"

"This film could not have happened without Miranda Swick. Miranda and her colleague Lucian Tanase were tasked with the hiring of 600 background actors and day players for this film during the height of COVID. As a low-budget film, the bulk of these ba ckground actors did the job on enthusiasm alone, and worked long hours.

Miranda is a highly gifted salesperson with exceptional communication skills. She was responsible for making dozens upon dozens of cold calls out to potential talent every day of the 40-day production, and never wavered in her mission to cast this film.

In addition, Miranda is a strategic thinker who is deeply methodical. She organized thousands of potential candidates for our fastidious auteur director and collected the director's notes. She was so committed to this task, that inthe inevitable event that a drop-out or last minute replacement was needed, Miranda could refer to this vast list of candidates and find suitable second-bests. Because of those sales skills listed above, she could always be counted on to bring the right person in.

Perhaps most pressing to Miranda's job, and most testament to her gifts, was that every single one of these actors needed to be COVID tested in advance of shooting. She had to anticipate not only the day's needs with potential backups, refer to a scarce supply of rapid tests in the event of emergency, but to forecast the production's needs days, even weeks, in advance to keep a constant supply of perfectly cast background talent and day players at hand.

Miranda never wavers in her enthusiasm. She is a joy to have on set, and her positive attitude is contagious to the entire crew. I highly recommend Miranda to anyone looking for someone who interfaces with talent, or with ambitious logistical needs. She is in the wings ready to step up to be your production coordinator, casting director, UPM, or producer.

She is a consummate coordinator with exceptional communication skills and real salesmanship. She did an unbelievable job on Something's More Than One Thing. She and her colleague Lucian were tasked with an almost impossible job - the castin g and hiring of 600 background actors, featured extras, and day-players at the height of COVID-19 on a low budget indie.

Miranda has a keen logistical mind - she kept track of thousands and thousands of potential background actors, and organized the casting notes from our particular and fastidious auteur director. Her thorough organizational skills made finding back-ups and replacements a breeze.

She worked long hours, made dozens upon dozens of phone calls daily, and we were constantly impressed by her sales acumen in attaching talent to the project. This was a SAG MLB, and these background actors were working for no-pay - nevertheless, Miranda and her team cast hundreds of actors, coordinated their COVID-tests with our CCO, and got them to arrive on set on-time.

Miranda's task was so herculean, so detailed, and so central to the directors' vision that it is almost impossible to elaborate on all that she did and all that she did well. It is safe to say however, that whatever production she joins next is incredibly, incredibly lucky to have her."
